Crete, the first stop of our adventure. I remember my first encounter with Crete. My mother bought me a book when I was 10 years old. It was a book about the mythology of the world from Old Egypt to Ancient Greece and far to the icy slopes of Scandinavian culture.
The first thing that caught my eye was the legend of the Minotaur and the King of Minos. We of course cannot forget the hero who was the main part of that story. I remember looking at the pictures and imagining that one day I would step on the same ground.
When we landed on the Crete, we were surprised by the smell of the sea, it is much different than, say, on the Adriatic. Crete is an island in the heart of the Mediterranean, winds from all over the Mediterranean bring their colorful riches to a small part of paradise like this island.
What surprised us even more were the beaches, we can freely say that they are a real little paradise. Large expanses of pure golden sand and beautiful turquoise color of the sea. The coast is full of small coves that have a large number of deck chairs and beach bars. The elders enjoyed cocktails and desserts while the children made towers of golden sand. It is really a pleasure to have something for everyone, there are beautiful beaches where the only noise is the murmur of waves and the singing of seagulls while on the other hand beautiful music from beach bars and people who enjoy every moment. They all came on Crete for the same goal and that is to take with them that little piece of paradise.
