The feeling we had after staying on Crete, kept us going for quite some time.

We decided on the next destination to go to pretty quickly. We wanted to see something totally opposite of Crete, and we got that in Dubai. Dubai represents something modern, I wanted to see what form of " modern " tourism is very popular. By modern tourism I mean a form of tourism that consists of newly built tourist attractions, no old temples, ruins or palaces.

Dubai is a rather interesting city, which I can say is at least 50 years ahead of current world, in terms of orderliness and general sense of security. That is very interesting because 50 years ago Dubai was just a little town in the middle of the desert. In just over two or three decades the city has transformed from a desert backwater port to a metropolis with the third most skyscrapers in the world.

Dubai is home to over 2.5 million people and is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates, there are 7 emirates. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

A very interesting fact is that in Dubai you can visit two milestone buildings in the world, the biggest mall in the world and the tallest building in the world. You can cross off a lot of items from the "bucket list" in that city.

We slowly went to check into our hotel to slowly begin our desert adventure.
