Crete, after 5 days in which we really enjoyed all the aspects it has to offer us, we concluded that the whole island can really be explored very cheaply. Passenger buses run throughout the island while cars can be rented at every turn.
Heraklion is located in the very center of the island so it is a great station to explore. The east and west of the island offer enchanting content and it doesn't really matter in which direction you go.
The road took us to Chrissi Island. There is a large offer of excursions leading to the island. It is about 15 km away from Crete and is surrounded by the Libyan Sea. The island is known for its natural resources and is dominated by the aromas of lush cedar trees, crystal clear waters and glorious white sandy beaches. The most famous beach on the island is Belegrina. Made of thousands of small shells that actually make up the pink - golden sand for which the island is famous. It is known that the pirates had their base on Chrissi so why not us ....
